The Massoth Switch Decoder 4K III is a versatile universal decoder designed for the digital control of turnouts, motor drives and a wide variety of switching applications on your model railway. Four independent switching channels allow direct control of up to four turnout drives or eight freely programmable switching outputs.

In addition to standard garden railway turnout drives, the Switch Decoder 4K III also supports dual-coil switch machines as well as motor-driven turnouts. Its powerful output stages can also be used to control motors, lamps and many other electrical loads.

A standout feature of the decoder is its eight integrated contact inputs. These inputs allow switching operations to be triggered not only digitally but also by push buttons, reed contacts or track contacts. This makes it easy to operate turnouts and other accessories manually or fully automatically. Alternatively, the same connections can be configured as LED status outputs for visual indication.

The decoder can operate using either switch addresses or loco addresses. In loco mode, extensive programming options are available, including freely assignable function keys, flashing effects, momentary (monoflop) functions, adjustable PWM output voltage and automatic return switching. These features make the decoder equally suitable for lighting, signalling and automation projects.

For easy installation and programming, the Switch Decoder 4K III features an integrated programming load, allowing all CVs to be read and written without the need for an external programming resistor. The decoder supports CV read/write, bit-wise CV programming and Programming on Main (PoM). Firmware can be updated at any time using the Massoth Service Tool (MST), ensuring your decoder remains up to date.
