8242070 Electronic Fuse (2/pack)

16,60

To ensure that your valuable locomotives are protected against damage caused by a short circuit burning the entire locomotive, the electronic fuse (8242070) is now available. If currents larger than 4 amperes occur, the current supply is interrupted automatically. A good insurance for every locomotive and certainly a worthwhile investment! (2/pack)

Electronic fuse to protect your cabling

Locomotive burned down?
This can happen very quickly. Again and again, short circuits on the garden track lead to drastic fault currents in the range of several amperes. When crossing polarized turnouts, a short circuit occurs when touching the crossing track profile if the turnout is set incorrectly.
A short moment is enough and the wiring of a twin-engine locomotive burns down!
Such effects also occur with the traction coupling (2 connected locomotives) and with chaining of the sockets for car lighting.
To protect your valuable locomotive model from damage caused by a short circuit until the entire locomotive burns down, there is now the electronic fuse.
If currents greater than 4 amps flow in the locomotive model, the power supply is automatically interrupted.
The fuse resets itself afterwards!
A good insurance for every model of garden railway and certainly a worthwhile investment!
The following drawing shows you what can happen without this protection:

In this example, the locomotive drives on an incorrectly positioned polarized turnout.
Here a short-circuit current flows unimpeded from gear 1 to gear 2, which can certainly destroy your cabling. In the worst case, this can lead to

Protect your locomotive from cable fire with these small electronics. Power supply: AC/DC/DCC max. 30V
Switch-off current: approx. 4 A
