With the eMOTION XLS-Onboard (Item No. 8216100), Massoth offers a convenient way to upgrade many LGB locomotives equipped with factory-installed Onboard electronics to modern driving and sound decoder technology.
The key advantage: The XLS-Onboard has been specifically designed for the existing wiring and connection system of these locomotives. This makes replacing the original electronics particularly easy – the existing connections can be reused, so extensive rewiring or soldering is generally not required.
One decoder – three LGB equipment versions
Over the years, numerous LGB locomotives have been supplied with different versions of Onboard electronics. The eMOTION XLS-Onboard provides a single, modern replacement and upgrade solution for these vehicles.
It can replace or upgrade locomotives originally equipped with three different LGB configurations:
- LGB Onboard Analog
- LGB Onboard Decoder
- LGB Onboard Decoder with Sound
This means that the XLS-Onboard is not only suitable as a replacement for existing digital electronics. Locomotives originally equipped with analog Onboard electronics can also be upgraded to a powerful decoder solution with driving and sound functions.
Driving decoder and sound in one solution
The eMOTION XLS-Onboard combines driving decoder and sound functions on a single board. This provides the locomotive with modern digital control while also allowing it to be equipped with a suitable sound project.
A wide range of Massoth sound projects is available for numerous locomotive models, allowing the decoder to be configured to match the respective vehicle.
Continue using the existing wiring
One of the major advantages of the XLS-Onboard is its design and connection system, which have been specifically adapted to LGB Onboard locomotives. Instead of completely rewiring the locomotive, the existing connections can be retained and simply connected to the new decoder.
This makes replacement considerably easier and reduces the amount of work required for the conversion.
Analog and digital operation
Even after the upgrade, the locomotive remains flexible in operation. The XLS-Onboard supports both digital and analog operation, allowing suitably equipped locomotives to continue running on different types of layouts.
