Description

Hall Sensor Kit for 6 mm Axles

The 8242031 Hall Sensor Kit provides reliable detection of a locomotive’s wheel rotation. It consists of a compact Hall sensor board and a two-piece magnetic ring that is fitted directly onto an axle with a diameter of 6 mm. The generated clock pulses can be evaluated by a compatible locomotive decoder, for example to provide wheel-synchronised control of corresponding functions. The 8242031 Hall Sensor Kit is suitable for universal use and replaces both the 8242030 and 8242035 Hall Sensor Kits.

Easy Installation Without Removing the Wheels

The magnetic ring consists of two halves that can either be clipped together or slid into one another. This allows the ring to be installed around the axle without removing the wheels, considerably simplifying installation and reducing the work required. The orientation of the magnetic ring on the axle is not important. The Hall sensor board is inserted into the designated opening in the motor block. The connection cable is then connected to the corresponding interface of the decoder.

Reliable, Contactless Detection

The Hall sensor detects the movement of the magnetic ring without physical contact. This ensures reliable, low-wear operation. Unlike mechanical contacts, there are no contact problems caused by dirt, wear or oxidation.
